It's true.. As of January 1, 2010 Food Network and HGTV both a program of Scripps Network
were cancelled from IO (Cablevision).
They were unable to reach an agreement and now my
$150 cable bill seems pointless without my favorite channels.
I'm paying so much already, more than other companies..
For what?
Good luck Cablevision if they are not able to get Food Network and HGTV back on.
I'm sure they'll lose more money than they "planned" on saving.
Demand Cablevision to bring back your favorite channels.

NOOOOOOO!!! How did I miss this?! Uggghhh! Cablevision is our only option besides Dish or DirectTV right now...I wish we could get Fios!
Man that sucks - Our company keeps adding more and more channels that I have no interest in, telling me I'm getting a "great deal", huh? I wish I could pick a package with just the channels I watch, and have my price based on that, it would be a heck of a lot cheaper than what I'm paying now for a bunch of stuff I never watch.
We don't pay for cable anymore, we haven't for a while. I just can't justify it when we can watch most of it on-line anyways
That stinks.
We had Directv and that's where I first started watching the Food Network and HGTV.
We moved to FIOS because of the price and I still have all the same channels.
Maybe if enough people complain they miss them they'll work something out?

if I ever watched TV or got cable, it would have been for these two networks. what about all the great shows I got from the library on DVD from these resources? and all those passionate foodies sharing their work? Thanks for sharing the news!
Wow, that majorly sucks! Those two channels alone would be the only reason for me to watch TV too! Can you switch to another cable provider?
That Cablevision would play hardball with 2 such wildly popular television networks reeks to me of a possible publicity stunt. After all, many of us are indignantly blogging, commenting, facebooking, etc. about the fact that HGTV and the FoodNetwork are gone from our television sets. I wouldn't be surprised if an agreement is negotiated soon. After all, I can't imagine life without my beloved (did I really say "beloved?!") HGTV and my new best friend, FoodNetwork! Keeping my fingers crossed...
I wouldn't watch TV without those 2 channels. Our cable company was just in negotiations with Fox and we almost lost that. I am positive you will get your channels back though.
If they canceled my food network I'd raise hell! Sorry they took those off!
