No Shopping Sunday

noshopping

Do you have a silly law in your County? Or maybe a rule?
Well, I moved to Bergen County, NJ three years ago.
There's a Blue Law in my county.
When I heard most stores were closed on Sundays I was shocked.

I work weekdays and my days to shop are usually Saturday-Sunday.
I will never forget needing a pair of gloves, but "no we can't sell that to you.
REALLY?
Meaning if I go to a supermarket and they sell socks, I cannot buy them.
I can buy some milk and bread, but I can't buy socks.

Okay I understand that all the department stores are closed, but
why can't I buy what is being sold in a store that is open?

If you go to Nation Wholesale Liquidators for instance, they're open.
But all the electronics, clothing, and furniture are blocked off.
Sorry this store can only sell you food on Sundays.

Of course you can travel to another county, odds are they'll be packed.
I'm not the only one who needs something.

Been there done that.

Kinda stinks.

Any laws in your area?

  1. We can't buy liquor on Sundays here. Which is strange because people just buy double on Saturdays. LOL

  2. No weird laws here. How crazy that the stores are open but they won't let you buy things other than food.
