Nielsen-Massey Review and Giveaway!

Coffee Extract

Nielsen-Massey Vanillas
"Quality excellence is the foundation for the management of our business and the basis for our goal of customer satisfaction." Mission Statement

Whenever I bake I'm always using extracts and flavorings.  The number one that most bakers use is Vanilla of course, but the number one brand??  Nielsen-Massey in my opinion!  I've purchased so many products before claiming to be Natural just to find out they were Artificial.  Nothing compares to the flavor of Nielsen-Massey.

I have their Vanilla Bean Paste, Tahitian Vanilla, and Madagascar Bourbon Vanilla.  They all flavor my desserts beautifully.  My favorite would have to be the Tahitian Vanilla for it's fruity profile.  I use this extract when I'm making anything with fresh fruits or preserves.

I have always purchased their products in stores, but wasn't aware of their other Pure Extracts.  I wrote to them about how much I love their products, and thanked them for giving my baked goods that extra flavor!  I was delighted to know that they had such a variety.  So in their response to my email they said they would send me a 2 oz sample of Coffee and a Chocolate Extract!

I was so excited to try the Coffee.  I usually use Coffee in my baked goods that have chocolate to give it a deeper flavor.  I tried the Coffee Extract over the holidays in my brownies, cupcakes, and even cookies!  The results? PERFECTION!  It has the bold flavor of Coffee, so I really didn't need to alter any of my recipes to give it that depth.  I can't wait to try using these flavors for ice cream, pies, whipped toppings, and other goodies! :)
Be sure to check out their website for recipes to use with their delicious flavors!

Wait, there's more!!

One lucky Courtney's Sweets Fan is going to get:

  1. Hmm I've never used a chocolate extract before so I'm thinking I'd like to use it in a raspberry sauce to top a romantic lava cake dessert for Valentine's Day.

  2. I would love to try out the chocolate extract in a delicious double layer cake and in the buttercream frosting. Possibly a red velvet cake. The coffee extract I'd like to try in a cinnamon streusel coffee cake, I always change recipes!
