BlenderBottle and Insulated Sling Review & Giveaway

Since I have been working out a lot more lately I started drinking more protein drinks.  One thing I hate about protein drinks is that they don't mix easily - at least not for me.  I know that's why they all have Soy Lectin, but I think all protein drinks taste much better when they're thoroughly mixed.  I also like to take my protein drinks on the go to work, out shopping, or even make them at work!

I love having ice in my protein shakes, I feel like the cold really helps it go down.  I've always had some issues with this.  Freezing hands, condensation in my car, water marks on my desk, and last but not least not holding desired temperature for long!

Then the BlenderBottle & Insulated Sling came into my life.  First of all this bottle mixes my protein effortlessly.  I don't have to break out the huge blender just to mix it with liquid.  I can take it anywhere, clip it on anything thanks to it's easy to open and close clasp!  Not to mention it has a great rubber bottom to protect the surface it's on.  

I love that the flip cap stays open and doesn't hit my face while drinking - like some other brands have.  Also it fits perfectly in my car and hasn't ever leaked!  Who wants spills in their car?  Not me! Dishwasher safe, and BPA free.. What more could someone ask for?




I actually never looked forward to drinking my protein shake after a workout because it just didn't have that smooth taste - so how did my first try go in the BlenderBottle?
My first recipe to try was their Iced Coffee from the 101 Quick and Easy BlenderBottle Recipes Book.



Iced Coffee

Serves 1 - 5 Minutes Prep

1 Cup Brewed Coffee, Cooled
1/2 Cup Crushed Ice
1 T Coffee Cream
1 Packet of Stevia (optional)
1 Scoop Protein Powder (optional)

Combine ingredients in a large BlenderBottle and shake until Smooth.
Note: I chose to use Unflavored Protein and doubled the liquid amounts.



Always put your ingredients in first - then the blender ball.




The blender ball is so powerful that that my shake is frothy - the froth goes away after a minute or so.
 What I love is that the book doesn't just have drink recipes!  It has recipes for desserts, sauces, ice cream, dips, and much more!  I let my husband pick out a recipe he'd like to try and he chose the Tasty Teriyaki Sauce - excellent choice.



Tasty Teriyaki Sauce
Recipe Source: 101 Quick and Easy BlenderBottle Recipes Book
Makes 1 1/2 Cups - 10 minutes prep

3/4 Cup Water
1/4 Cup and 2 Tablespoons Soy Sauce
3/4 Cup Brown Sugar
1/4 Teaspoon Garlic Powder
1/8 Teaspoon Ground Ginger
2 Tablespoons Corn Starch



Combine ingredients in your BlenderBottle and blend until smooth.  Pour mixture into a small saucepan and carefully bring to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring regularly.  Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes or until sauce reaches desired consistency.

We chose to make it into Chicken Teriyaki.  I added

2 Cooked Chicken Breast
2 Cups Cooked Broccoli
1 Sauteed Red Pepper
3/4 Cup Cooked Brown Rice
1/3 Cup Tasty Teriyaki Sauce (more or less for taste)
