The last few months I haven't used or touched my oven at all. Main reason? It stinks.. It smells almost like gas, but it's smelled like this since we moved in. Landlord says it's fine. For my health and the health of my family I am definitely not comfortable to continuing to use it. So we stuck to stove top and slow cooking for a few months. Then I saw the Calphalon XL Digital Convection Oven , and I instantly fell in love!

It's perfect for baking as it has two rack settings. Also I love the removable crumb tray and how easily it cleans. The Calphalon XL Digital Convection Oven has a few different modes to choose from. Bake, Broil, Toast, Bagel, Pizza, Cookies. The highest on bake is 450 degrees, which is perfect. I love the LCD controls and how it displays the temperature and time remaining.

Evenly bakes everything, and let's you know when it's done preheating and ready to go.
Stainless Steel - of course love it!
1 Year FULL REPLACEMENT Warranty, and a 5 Year Limited Nonstick Warranty
Cool Touch Handle
I can SEE what's inside. You can't see inside my oven unless opening.
Won't heat up the house like a regular oven. This = Happy Hubby!
Overall I highly recommend this product. If you're in the market for a Convection Oven this is a great buy! I plan on using this more than my next oven wherever we end up moving. I have used it several times daily since opening and I don't see myself not needing this. It's perfect for our family!
PURCHASE: The Calphalon XL Digital Convection Oven is only $199!
Check out Calphalon's Video on youtube featuring this oven!
I was finally craving cake so I made a carrot cake right in my convection oven! The house smelled delicious!!

Chocolate Chip Carrot Cake
10-15 Servings
4 Eggs
1/2 Cup Vegetable Oil
1/3 Cup Vanilla Greek Yogurt
1 Cup Sugar
2 Cups Unbleached, All Purpose Flour
2 Teaspoons Cinnamon
2 Teaspoons Baking Soda
2 Teaspoons Baking Powder
1/2 Teaspoon Salt
3 Cups Grated Carrot
1/2-3/4 Cup Chocolate Chips

Preheat oven to 350.
Combine eggs, oil, yogurt, and sugar. In a separate bowl combine all the dry ingredients. Slowly add in the dry mixture to the wet followed by carrots and chocolate chips. (I like to add some chocolate chips to the top)
Bake for 35-40 minutes in a loaf pan. Cool, slice, and enjoy!

Now I just can't wait to make pizza in this oven!
What would you make first?

wow, that turned out great. I would love to see how a pizza turns out.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! You make these look so scrumptious!
ReplyDeleteI would make homemade baked chicken nuggets for my family because I can't stand that they eat some nasty frozen ones lol
ReplyDeleteThat is SO nice! We love our convection oven, but I don't know if I'd trust it for something like carrot cake - yours looks sooo much nicer! I might even get rid of my microwave if I had something like that... :)
ReplyDeleteI don't think I have ever heard of chocolate chip carrot cake before, but it sure looks awesome. Of course, the pregnant lady has to mention the food first. lol The oven looks amazing too. I want one of these so bad, I am tired of burning my fingers trying to get toast out of the toaster.
ReplyDeleteThat oven looks really nice! And the carrot cake looks yummy as always. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for this review! In fact, I am shopping and comparing counter top oven/toasters for my new kitchen when we move next month. This one definitely goes to the top of the list.
ReplyDeleteCandace, homemade chicken nuggets sound amazing! Lindsey, I'm trying to get rid of our microwave.. hubby is protesting. Kathleen, preggo or not it's amazing! I've actually had carrot cake with chocolate chips before, so yummy!! This is a lighter version without cream cheese frosting and uses yogurt as well! Beth, I absolutely love it. Definitely keep it in mind, and good luck with the move! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you all for the comments!
I pretty much just use mine to heat things up. Maybe I'll have to make something!
ReplyDeleteIt looks great. I'd have to make pizza in it for the family.
ReplyDeleteWow this looks amazing. I recently told hubby I wanted a convection oven. My grandma had one and it was the best!
ReplyDeleteThat looks so yummy! What a great tool for the kitchen!
ReplyDeleteI have never used a convection oven, but your results look amazing!!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely pizza, for my pizza loving guys! :)
ReplyDeleteThat is pretty sweet!
ReplyDeleteI'm in the market for one. This one sounds so great! It's more than I can afford right now though. :(
ReplyDeleteYour oven smells, that is not good:-( Well looks like you found a perfect replacement, this is fantastic! The cake you made came out gorgeous, and it looks sooooo moist! Hugs, Terra
ReplyDeleteOh that looks absolutely delicious. I have a convection toaster oven but oddly, I never use it for baking.
ReplyDeleteI love my convection oven and prefer baking in it to my regular oven.
ReplyDeleteWow, that's sleek…your carrot cake looks awesome!
ReplyDeleteThat looks really good!
ReplyDeleteOmgosh... OH no you didn't. I'm trying to hold my self back from running to the store and buying everything to start baking and cooking. Looks delicious
ReplyDeleteWe use our convection oven ALL the time. That carrot cake looks yummo!
ReplyDeleteThat oven and carrot cake both look AMAZING!
ReplyDeleteOh man that looks awesome!!!
ReplyDeleteLooks so yummy and I would love to try that Calphalon!
ReplyDeleteI worked at a restaurant a few years back and always thought how cool it would be to have a convection oven. This would be perfect!
ReplyDeleteI love that Convection Oven how nice. And, the Chocolate Chip Carrot Cake came out beautifully.
ReplyDeleteI have NEVER used a convection oven before -- love how toasty it got that toast!
ReplyDeleteI'm really impressed with it!

ReplyDeleteI would definitely try a pizza. That thing looks really cool.
ReplyDeleteThis looks so fantastic. I've been looking into getting a convection oven and I'm glad you did this review! Your bread looks awesome. I would love to do some sort of chicken bake or casserole!
ReplyDeleteThat carrot cake looks AMAZING and my husband would flip head over heels for that Calphalon oven!!
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty convection oven! I love Calphalon products.
ReplyDeleteOkay that is a beautiful convection oven!!!
ReplyDeleteI would probably try a pizza!
ReplyDeleteHi! I just made this recipe. I think I little bit of a sugar in the dough will be just fine.
ReplyDeleteBecause the cake was soft, very tasty but salty, even with the chocolate chips.
But thanxs for therecipe!
Daniel, OH my goodness. I'm so sorry I must have left out sugar.. It should have 3/4 to 1 cup :( I blame pregnancy brain, but happy you did try it. I can't imagine how it turned out. So sorry!!
ReplyDeleteHow is your convection oven working for you? I think I want to buy one!
ReplyDeleteWhat does a convection oven do over a regular oven? It looks cute. I do have a small (and cheap) toaster oven but it's useless, doesn't do anything. This does look cool. I hate heating up my regular oven for maybe 10 chicken nuggets or a slice of pizza. Can you really use this calphalon for just about everything?
ReplyDeleteThat is a beautiful oven!
ReplyDeleteLooks awesome!
ReplyDeleteYUM!! I want one!
ReplyDeleteI have never used a convection oven but have always wanted to. Thanks for the review!
ReplyDeleteNice! We love our countertop convection oven. If it ever goes kaput, I'll have to check this one out.
ReplyDeleteWow! It's gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI really want one of these ovens!
ReplyDeleteThat chocolate chip carrot cake sounds awesome.

ReplyDeleteHmm, that looks amazing, my husband would love this!
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of adding chocolate!
ReplyDeleteI have a cheesy old convection oven, but I still love it. There's nothing like baking in one.
ReplyDeleteI want one of these so badly! But I only have a small amount of counter space, so it would never fit!
ReplyDeleteCarrot cake looks good and I'd love to have one of those ovens. Cooking made easy.
ReplyDeleteI can almost smell it!
ReplyDeleteyummy looking
ReplyDeleteWow! I want that oven! The recipe looks fabulous too!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the recipe- I've got a big bag of carrots that I need to use up!
