I still haven't found a way to quickly prepare dinner like I used to since having sweet baby. One minute I'm prepping dinner, the next I'm nursing and half asleep with her :) Dinner has been boring and too many times ordered out. I don't care if I had a grilled chicken sandwich with loads of vegetables.. It wasn't prepared in my own kitchen and it cost triple what it would for myself to make it! The last thing we should be doing is spending money on ordering food.. but how can I sit an slave over a stove all day when I just want to be snuggled on the couch with baby girl? I still want to enjoy dinner with hubby - there has to be a solution!! Well, Campbell's has the answer with the new Campbell's Skillet Sauces!
They've given me a way to make dinner in less than 15 minutes, with minimal ingredients, and without breaking the bank! It's so easy, the baby could do it - well almost! Simply brown your meat and serve over a starch of your choice. I just told Chris to tell me what flavor tickled his fancy.. He could choose anything from Fire Roasted Tomato, Marsala, Scampi, Thai Green Curry, Creamy Chipotle, and even Toasted Sesame! He picked Fire Roasted Tomato without hesitation, but said we have to eventually try all 6 delicious flavors! :)
I went to Acme (be sure to check out my Google + Story for even more pictures and details!) and first walked around the produce section. Chris is a produce manager so he always likes to start in that section first - he thought there's was really nicely organized and we even scored some beautiful organic potatoes! We then went to the chicken section that even had signs talking about the Campbell's Skillet Sauces! We then went to the prepared food section where they have everything from canned goods to instant potatoes and got our Campbell's Skillet sauce and hubby got the Fire Roasted Tomato he wanted and we went with steak! There was actually a coupon for $2 in store!! Don't worry if your store doesn't have it, because you can even get one off their facebook (they're on twitter too!) during the month of January and on Sanderson Farms Chicken! After getting the sauce we walked around a little more checking out the store - we didn't realize we had an Acme by us!
So I woke up today and seriously had no energy and was pretty darn thankful that I had an easy dinner to make with 3 easy steps! Chris had work until 3:30 so I started right when he left! It takes him about a half hour to get home.. I made some rice, browned the meat, then just put in the sauce and let it simmer! While waiting for hubby to get home I put together a little tomato salad with onion, garlic, vinegar, olive oil, salt, and a little parsley.

Quickly plated and waited for hubby to get home! Now we're going to watch Howard the Duck and relax thanks to my #Dinnerin15 dishes are even done already!! :-)
