Celebrate 100 Years with Hellmann’s and a Burger Recipe!

When I was asked to make over a recipe that Mario Batali made for Hellmann’s all in honor of their 100 Year Anniversary I was thrilled – but then thought to myself.. How on earth would I make over something BETTER than Mario Batali?!  Then I saw the recipes and while they’re all delicious I knew exactly what I wanted to do!  I wanted to put my twist on his Juicy Salsa Burger.  While I love salsa I wanted to try a different dip, something a little cleaner, and creamy!  I like that he put Hellmann’s in the burger, however I wanted to offer a way for people who use frozen burgers to use my recipe too!  I always use fresh meat, but totally understand grab and go frozen burgers are easier in some cases!

I absolutely love burgers especially during the summer and put my fair share of Hellmann’s mayonnaise on my burger.. so how could I put it on my burger?  Not just by simply spreading it on the bun but with a delicious and creamy dip.. with cheese and greens!  Leafs of beautiful spinach all mixed into my Hellmann’s with a little cheese and sour cream.. oh and you can’t forget a little kick from garlic.  I could eat the dip alone.. but on a burger.. knock your socks off good.
So I made this recipe and you can create your own twist too on Hellmann’s Contest App Page! By entering you can win a seat at the Blue Ribbon Table in NYC for Hellmann’s 100th Birthday Celebration!  For 100 years they have brought together the best ingredients such as oil, vinegar, now cage-free eggs to help America’s tables to bring out the best meals to their loved ones!  In addition Hellmann’s is helping provide one million meals to Feeding America to help the fight against hunger nationwide.

So definitely enter you unique twist and check you all of Mario Batali’s recipes while you’re there!  There’s another recipe my hubby loves!  My chicken burgers and I also use Hellmann’s for that topping too!  I just can’t get myself to try another mayonnaise.  I have even tried homemade and while it’s good it’s not for me.
All you need to do is combine a few ingredients and you have a tasty burger!

Creamed Spinach Burgers
Makes topping for 8-10 burgers

1/2 Cup Hellmann’s Mayonaisse
1/2 Cup Sour Cream
1/2 Cup Grated Parmesan
1/2 Cup Shredded Mozzarella
1 Cup Frozen Spinach, Defrosted & Drained (you could also add artichokes)
1 Teaspoon Minced Garlic

Combine and heat until cheese is a little melted.  Place on burger and enjoy!

Seriously.. don’t just take my word for it!  You have got to try this!  Please?  If not you can also try coming up with your unique makeover too!

Disclosure:  I am invited to an event in NYC for my participation.

Burgers are definitely one of my favorite things to eat during the summer. It just screams barbecue. Love the unique twist of the creamed spinach on it!

That’s a fabulous topping and it really gets me in the mood for burgers! We just cooked up some pre-prepared patties with bacon and cheddar tonight – they were WAY too seasoned. I’ll have to check out that app!
