I have the original iPad and I don’t think I have ever used it so much until I downloaded apps for Sweet Baby.  She loves to play all of the apps and best of all most if not all the ones we have aside from the talking ones are actually educational. SCORE!  What’s even better is that MOST of them were FREE!  Of course you can “pay for more”.  However, I’ve found there’s so many of them that she has such a variety with all the trials too!

Here’s a break down of our 5 TOP FREE apps for toddlers.  Need free apps for baby too?  Most of these are good and if not they’ll be great once they’re exploring the iPad!  I hope this help you in your search for kid friendly apps for baby and toddler!  I know when I first asked around not many could recommend much.  These are keepers!

best free apps for toddlers

Awesome Xylophone Lite

We bought baby a xylophone and the mallet was more like a lolly pop than a musical instrument.  I much rather her play away on the iPad than choking on the mallet!

Look Baby!

This app is actually made for the iPhone, but since you can zoom in on the iPad we could still enjoy and play!  It recently updated and offers more than baby first played!

Out Fit 7 Ltd.

They make apps that talk and while some fart too much, or burp too loud they actually encourage talking and Sweet Baby loves to chat it up with Tom, Ben, Gina, Pierre, Ginger, Angela, Talking Bacteria, and MORE!

Fisher Price apps

Fisher Price has a GREAT variety of free apps on iTunes for the iPad and iPhone.  Sweet Baby’s absolute favorite of all is Where’s Puppy & Giggle Gang.

Tiny Hands apps

OUR ABSOLUTE FAVORITE.  They make so many incredible apps for baby and toddler and we think they are the best FREE apps you can download.  Get them all.  You won’t be disappointed! :)
