I love when our homemade sugar cookies come out of the oven. I put them on a rack to cool, but I admit, it’s hard to wait. I love enjoying them while they’re still warm!

- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup butter softened
- 1 1/4 cups sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- sprinkles or sugar cookie icing
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
- Combine the flour, baking soda, and baking powder in a bowl and set aside.
- In a stand mixer, combine the butter and sugar and cream until smooth. Beat in the egg and vanilla and mix until just combined.
- Add the dry mixture until just combined.
- Scoop out cookies using a cookie scoop into sugar or sprinkles.
- Place sugar cookie dough scoop onto cookie sheet and flatten a little bit.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned
- Let the cookies cool for 2 minutes on the baking sheet before transferring to a cooling rack.
