Oh my chocolate and cream cheese!! Haunted Pancakes with Melted Ghost Syrup or.. chocolate, chocolate chip pancakes with cream cheese syrup.

I love creating delicious and creative holiday recipes for my family to enjoy. Kay has been on a pancake kick lately, where it’s potato pancakes or just plain old pancakes, she’s happy to have them! As a part of the Kraft Foods October Recipe creation I wanted to really showcase Philadelphia Cream Cheese. Cream cheese is such a versatile product – great for pumpkin cupcakes, kid friendly cream cheese macaroni, vanilla cupcakes with white chocolate cream cheese frosting and you can’t forget a a good vanilla bean cheesecake recipe! You can even use cream cheese in soup if you want a creamier texture! (Try out our Spicy Cauliflower Soup!) I myself even enjoy cream cheese on it’s own. It’s not just for bagels folks! (although you could try this veggie cream cheese recipe!!)

Like I said.. cream cheese is versatile! It’s also affordable when you buy Philadelphia Cream Cheese from Walmart! I really wanted cream cheese to shine in our pancake recipe. I also wanted to make it fit Halloween! We try to avoid food dyes and by us using cream cheese for the white syrup and cocoa for the blackish pancakes, we created a ghoulish breakfast recipe! Kay went bonkers when she saw the pancake stacks. When I poured the cream cheese syrup on top she screamed in excitement and couldn’t wait to devour some. Look how boring they were prior to the cream cheese syrup!

We enjoyed the stack of pancakes together and even tossed some fresh clementine segments on top.

The citrus really made all the flavors pop! We love our Ghoulish Breakfast – who wouldn’t want Haunted Pancakes with Melted Ghost Syrup on Halloween?! It’s a perfect back to school recipe too. Don’t forget to print some coupons before your shopping trip, you can make the recipe even sweeter knowing your saving! 😉
