I love Wilton.  I love the brand, I love the products, and I love the selections!  I can’t go to a craft store without heading to the Wilton section.  There’s always something new and amazing.  Wilton’s newest creation is Pops! Sweets on a Stick..  I love the idea, and I was excited to be one of the bloggers who received a free Pops kit from Wilton to be in there Pops in a Post contest.

So ideas rushed into my head like crazy as soon as I received the kit.  I wanted to do so many things, but it’s really not that easy to mold a pop.  So I scaled back my thoughts, and decided to do something that anyone can do in their own kitchen that wouldn’t be too time consuming to make just one.  I’m sure you know you’ll want more than one.  I did!!  I hope you like my pops! 🙂

    The kit included:
    bloggerkit

    First things first..
How do you make a cake pop??
    You’ll need a 9 x 13 in. Baking Pan
    1 Box Cake Mix
1 Box Instant Pudding (3.4 ounces)
    4 Eggs
    1 Cup Water
    1/3 Cup Vegetable Oil
    1/2 Cup Ready Made Frosting

    Preheat your oven to 350°F.
Combine all ingredients aside from frosting, and beat at medium speed for two minutes.  Pour into greased baking pan and cook for 35-40 minutes.  Let pan cool on wire  rack after baking.  Divide cake in half, and reserve one half for future use.  In a large bowl crumble the cake until there’s no chunks. Add icing, and mix until well combined. Form into desired shapes and chill for at least 2 hours before decorating.

    Hot Air Balloons

    Items needed:
    Wilton Lollipop Sticks
    Dark Blue Chocolate Melts
    Red Chocolate Melts
    Yellow Chocolate Melts
    Dark Chocolate Melts
    Wilton White Nonpareils
    Miniature Peanut Butter Cups
    Wilton Disposable Decorating Bags
First mold your cake pops into a circle, then slowly squeeze in the bottom to shape a balloon.
Let them set up in the refrigerator for about 2 hours.
Dip your sticks in some melted Dark Chocolate, and then insert sticks into the bottom of the cake pop; return to the refrigerator for another 30-60 minutes.  First dip into the melted yellow candy melts, and make sure to cover the entire cake pop.  Refrigerate in between colors. Yellow, red, then blue.

Once you have the cake pops in all three colors, take a pipe bag and fill it with the melted dark chocolate, then create 4 lines to represent the lines in the hot air balloon.  Shake on Nonpareils.   Once the balloon is dry take the miniature peanut butter cups and slide up the stick of the cake pop.  Make sure to wipe the stick with a clean cloth after.

Then I wanted to make smore..  I mean, more cake pops! So I made S’mores!   I’ve seen many different types of Smore cake pops, but I’ve never seen them as the pop being an actual smore. Many people will make a pop and just dip into crushed graham crackers.

    Items needed:
    Wilton Lollipop Sticks
    White Chocolate Melts
    Dark Chocolate Melts
    Graham Crackers
    Wilton Disposable Decorating Bags
I shaped the cake pop into a smashed marshmallow, while they were in the refrigerator I cut some graham crackers into squares, and made holes in them using the bottom of the pops stick.  After taking the pops out of the refrigerator I then dipped them into the white chocolate. While the chocolate was still melted I placed one graham cracker on top, and one on the bottom.  For the chocolate drizzle I placed melted dark chocolate into a piping bag; placed the pops into styrofoam, and drizzled over them.

Oh yeah.. I also made some brownie pops!
I didn’t get to even snap many pictures before these were gobbled up.  Brownies are a favorite in this house. 🙂
For the brownie pops a childhood game came to mind.. A blue guy.. Inky 🙂 Any clue what game I’m talking about??
    Inky Brownie Pops

    Items needed:
    Wilton Lollipop Sticks
    Blue Candy Melts
    Wilton Candy Eye Balls
    Prepackaged Brownie Mix
    Wilton Chocolate Pro
    Wilton Brownie Pop Silicone Mold

For the brownie pops I used the the Wilton Chocolate Pro they supplied.  It heats up extremely fast!   Put the unit on melt for 5 minutes, and then add chocolate; let it melt.  Once the chocolate is melted turn the unit on to warm.  To make the brownie pops you need to first prepare the brownie mix. Follow the mixes baking instructions for preparing and baking.  Once prepared spray the brownie mold, and fill them with the brownie batter about 2/3 full.  Place the silicone mold onto a baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes then insert your sticks. Bake for another 10-15 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted is mostly clean.

Place the silicone mold onto a cooling wrack; allow to cool before removed the brownie pops.  Once the brownie pops are cooled take the pops out by applying gentle pressure to the bottom of the mold while pulling from the top.  Place the pops in the refrigerator for about 15 minutes before dipping into the chocolate.  Once you dip the pops, place on two eye balls, and you’re finished! 🙂

I had so much fun making and eating these pops!  I want to thank Wilton
for letting me participate in such a fun opportunity! 🙂

Note: I received a Kit from Wilton to make these pops for their Pop’s in a post contest. All opinions expressed are my own. I was not compensated for this post.
