  • 1 whole chicken
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons butter softened
  • 1 teaspoon garlic granulated
  • 1 teaspoon parsley dried
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper


  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
  • Place the chicken in a casserole dish.
  • Pour 1 cup of water into the baking dish.
  • Rub the chicken with the butter and seasonings and then bake uncovered for 15 minutes at 400 degrees F.
  • After 15 minutes reduce to 350 degrees F for the remaining cook time, 20 minutes per pound.
