BBQ Pulled Pork Slow Cooker

Our BBQ Pulled Pork recipe is a keeper! This a bbq pulled pork slow cooker recipe that you can make hours before dinner time for a quick and easy dinner. We love making pulled pork sandwiches, and we always serve bbq pulled pork with coleslaw!

  • 3 lbs pork shoulder
  • 16 oz bbq sauce
  • 1-2 cups water
  • 1 large onion sliced
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch


  • In a slow cooker add the pork, onions, bbq sauce, water, and onions.
  • Cook on high for 4-5 hours or low for 8-10 hours.
  • Remove the meat from the slow cooker, trim the fat, and shred.
  •  Once fully shredded place back into the slow cooker.
  • Mix 1/4 of the bbq sauce with cornstarch and then add to slow cooker, cook for 1/2-1 hour.
  • Serve on Kaiser Rolls topped with Coleslaw.


We add in water and that will make the bbq sauce very loose, if you want it thicker you can leave the water out. Since the pork is really fatty we like to add more liquids so that the liquids will keep the fats and we can just take the meat and add fresh sauce if needed.
