Have fun creating this DIY Pinata Easter Egg for a kid friendly Easter craft with your kids! This is a great DIY home tutorial or even a fun classroom activity.
Mix the water and glue until you get a nice paste, not too thick, but not too thin.
Blow up the balloon to the desired size.
Cut the newspaper into pieces and then dip into the glue mixture and then put onto the balloon.
Cover the balloon with 2-3 layers of newspaper.
Let the newspaper completely dry.
Once dry, poke a hole into the balloon and remove it from the newspaper balloon. Do this carefully so the newspaper balloon doesn't cave in at all.
Make the pull string if desired with paper and ribbon as shown in the video.
Decorate the balloon with torn pieces of tissue paper and stick on using regular glue.
Stuff the pinata and then seal with the paper and pull strings.
Cover the white paper with tissue paper so it's not showing.
Notes
If you don't want to make it a DIY pull string pinata, you can just finish the bottom and leave off the paper with strings, BUT instead getting a hook or a single strong string in so you can hang. We have it so that an adult can hold the pinata for the little ones and they can just pull strings.
