I grew up eating hash browns and have tried so many different brands and ways to cook them. Our favorite by far is Trader Joe’s frozen hash brown patties. They cook up beautifully. Half of our family likes them crispy and half likes them extra crispy, so we add 2 more minutes.

Aldi had some really cute small hash browns and I stocked up on them since they were a limited time buy. Those cook up even quicker, about 6-7 minutes.

I love that you can cook just one patty for a quick breakfast or a whole batch for the family.

Frozen hash brown patties: Straight from the freezer is the secret to crispy edges. We recommend Trader Joe’s hash browns, they’re the best flavored, perfectly shaped and crisp beautifully.
Cooking spray, optional: If yours are on the less oily side a quick spritz of avocado helps crisp it up. We haven’t needed any with Trader Joe’s.
Salt, optional: A finishing touch that makes the flavor pop.
