A rich and chocolate bundt cake with a sweet coffee glaze, this will remind you of eating a fresh baked glazed donut. This recipe is a great way to start the morning with family and friends – fresh coffee and a chocolate bundt cake from scratch.
This Chocolate Bundt Cake Recipe has been sponsored by Folgers Coffee. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
There’s nothing that starts the morning off right better than a hot cup of coffee. I love waking up and putting my favorite Folgers® K-Cup® Pod into my single-cup coffee maker before tackling my daily tasks.
Well, I could think of one more addition I like, especially when having company over, chocolate bundt cake from scratch! This coffee chocolate cake is filled with deep and rich flavor thanks to the addition of the bold and strong coffee, Folgers K-Cup Black Silk l. I love making homemade bundt cake recipes from scratch and always include coffee if it’s a chocolate cake!
There’s no need to bring in coffee and donuts when you can easily make a delicious coffee-glazed chocolate bundt cake. Your house will smell like a delicious mix of a coffee shop and bake shop; it’s heavenly.
Why add coffee to chocolate desserts
Coffee enhances the flavor of chocolate, so that is why you’ll often see coffee with chocolate desserts. It gives the chocolate a deeper, rich chocolate flavor. To enhance our cake even more and give it that coffee flavor, we glaze with a coffee glaze on top. We love this moist bundt cake recipe with Folgers Coffee glaze.
How To Make a Bundt Cake
You’ll need a good bundt pan and you’ll also need to grease it well. If your bundt pan isn’t properly greased you’ll risk the cake staying in the bundt pan. I like using a pretty bundt pan instead of a flat bottom one, you can create a beautiful cake with a fancy bundt pan. Our easy chocolate bundt cake recipe will slide right out of the pan as long as you grease the bundt pan.
Chocolate Bundt Cake Recipe
We hope you enjoy this chocolate bundt cake as much as we do! It’s easy to make and even easier to enjoy. Just brew your favorite Folgers K-Cup to add to the bundt cake batter. The buttermilk and coffee make it a moist chocolate bundt cake. If you want to make a chocolate bundt cake with chocolate chips, coat chocolate chips with flour so they don’t sink.
Now before you make our chocolate bundt cake recipe with cocoa powder please make sure you’re using a good quality cocoa. Remember this is a chocolate cake and you don’t want to waste your delicious coffee and ingredients.
Chocolate Bundt Cake Ingredients:
- flour
- sugar
- brown sugar
- cocoa
- baking soda
- baking powder
- salt
- eggs
- Folgers K-Cup Black Silk coffee
- buttermilk (learn how to make buttermilk at home)
- butter
- vanilla
I just put all of the ingredients into my stand mixer and mix. We sift our flour prior to mixing into the batter.
You’ll bake this in a 350 degree F oven for about 40 minutes for a delicious coffee chocolate bundt cake.
Cake Glaze
For the cake glaze recipe, I go with a coffee glaze that is full of flavor! You only need 2 ingredients to make this cake glaze icing.
Mix together 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar with 1 tablespoons of strong coffee. Once the coffee is mixed in, keep adding in a teaspoon of coffee until you reach the desired texture of glaze for the bundt cake.
We go with a little thick, but not too thick. Once the glaze dries it will be a bit more transparent.
I love using Folgers K-Cup Pods in my baked goods. I can control the strength and amount with the touch of a button and have piping hot coffee ready. I know I’ll have that rich flavor and taste that I’m looking for and it’s consistent each time. Psst, ShopRite also has a $1 off digital coupon available with your ShopRite Price Plus® club card. This way you can buy more coffee to enjoy as is and bake with too!
My favorite for baking is the Folgers K-Cup Black Silk, and for enjoying daily, I am a big fan of all flavors, but am currently crushing on Folgers K-Cup Caramel Drizzle and Folgers K-Cup Vanilla Biscotti.
Folgers has been a part of lasting traditions in my household for many years.
Folgers is what my mother used. It’s a trusted, familiar favorite that brings a comforting start to embrace all the day has to offer. Find your favorite Folgers K-Cups at your local ShopRite in the coffee aisle.

I have made this cake and the batter seems really runny is that the norm?
Courtney Lopez
It shouldn’t be too runny, but I have had it runnier with organic ingredients. How did it turn out for you?
Sandra
How much butter is in a stick of butter? We don’t have sticks of butter in Ontario.
Courtney Lopez
It’s a half cup of butter. 🙂

Hi, two questions:
1- unsweetened or sweetened cocoa
2 – light or dark brown sugar?
I look forward to hearing from you.
Courtney Lopez
Sorry about that! Unsweetened cocoa and light brown sugar. 🙂

Hi. Can you please tell me what temperature I should set the oven at if I am going to turn this into mini Bundt cakes?? Very excited to try it with the coffee glaze!
Courtney Lopez
Hi! So I’d still cook at the same temperature but would reduce the cooking time. I’m not sure the size of your bundt pans, but cupcakes usually bake 15-22 minutes. 🙂

Such a good recipe! I’m an experienced baker who is discerning when it comes to recipes and I’m very happy. The cake is very light, moist and spongy while at the same, dense enough to be satisfying. The glaze actually soaked in a little (cake wasn’t completely cooled). I used cacao powder and Bob’s gluten-free flour with 1 teaspoon of guar gum (as a gluten sub for binding). Guar gum is easy to find and lasts forever because you use so little.
My boys love it!
Courtney
So glad you guys enjoyed it!! 😀
