We love making homemade chocolate covered pretzels! We use either big hard pretzels and make them half covered or even use big pretzels rods to make chocolate covered pretzel rods.

We have been in the holiday spirit with most of our recipes lately, and we couldn’t wait to make one of my our favorite sweet and salty treats, Holiday Chocolate Covered Pretzels! They’re super easy to make and you will wow your family with your toddler’s creation. It’s so easy to get your toddler and children involved in the kitchen. Perfect for gift giving as well.

how to make chocolate covered pretzels

Start off with your favorite chocolate, use a chocolate you would eat plain. We like using milk, dark, and semi-sweet chocolate. We even like making white chocolate covered pretzels! The reason we say use something you would eat plain is so you don’t ruin your chocolate covered pretzels, always go with your favorite for the best flavor.

We melt our favorite chocolate and then dip it into the melted chocolate and then place it on a parchment lined baking sheet.

When the pretzels are on the baking sheet you can cover with your favorite toppings. You could also dip them into the toppings, but some of the chocolate may drip into the toppings.

For pretzel rods we do it a little differently, we find that using a tall glass filled with melted chocolate and dipping the rod in is the best way for kids to learn how to make chocolate covered pretzel rods with lots of chocolate, not just a tiny tip.

Making chocolate covered pretzels is a fun and easy way for kids to get into the kitchen. They can have fun making the pretzels and even tasting all the different toppings.

So much fun making Chocolate Covered Pretzels!
