Boneless and Skinless Air Fryer Chicken thighs make dinner easy! If you’ve never made chicken thighs in an air fryer you must try this recipe!
This air fryer boneless skinless chicken thighs recipe cooks up quickly and to perfection in the air fryer since the air fryer cooks the chicken with hot air all around. When you’re cooking things with seasoning in an air fryer you’ll want to make sure it’s rubbed in a little so it doesn’t blow all over from the fan.
Air fryer chicken thighs are so much easier to make than chicken breast without a crust since they’re a fattier cut of chicken. You can make air fryer bread chicken thighs if you want, but it’s okay to make them without a crumb coating.
When you use the air fryer you allow the fat from the chicken thighs to drip down into the pan. It’s a great way to remove excess fat and get a nice and seared exterior on your food.
ingredients for air fryer chicken thighs
- boneless skinless chicken thighs
- salt
- smoked paprika
- oregano
- cumin
- pepper
- brown sugar
How to make air fryer chicken thighs
Mix together the chicken seasonings and then sprinkle on the top and bottom of your chicken thighs.
How long do you cook chicken thighs in an Air Fryer?
Place the chicken thighs in the air fryer for 10 mins at 350 degrees F and then flip and cook for another 10-15 minutes or until the thickest part of the chicken reaches 165 degrees F.
What to serve with air fryer chicken thighs?
You can serve your favorite sides like cheesy garlic mashed potatoes, air fryer corn on the cob, creamed spinach, or a side salad.
My chicken thighs are dried out, help!
Oh no, make sure you’re not overcooking them. Food cooks quickly in the air fryer and each air fryer cooks differently. I notice that my Cuisinart air fryer will cook hotter than my previous air fryer so I always use a lower temperature on this device. Get to know your device and you’ll quickly learn what temperatures and times work for your specific air fryer.
Prevent your air fryer from smoking
Chicken thighs will drop the fat into the bottom pan. To prevent the fat from smoking you can add a little water to the bottom tray/pan to prevent it from sizzling and smoking into the air.

Can I do this in my Ninja foodie
Absolutely! You may need to adjust the time and temperature a little depending on how it cooks. 🙂
Ok I am addicted to this recipe, not only did I make it 2 nights for myself I am making it tonight for hubby. It’s so easy and flavorful. Thanks again

Amazingly simple and delicious! New staple in this house!! So yummy so yummy 😋
Thank you and yay! So happy to hear this! We love it here too 😀
This recipe looks so good. I plan on making it tonight in my air fryer (cuisinart). I noticed you use a different type of air fryer for the baked potatoes. Have you found success with baked potatoes in this type of air fryer?
Hi Dayna!
We used to own a different style of air fryer – I will be sharing the method for the Cuisinart soon! 🙂
This was really great! Very much appreciate the heads up on water in the botttom- would have been a smoke fest for sure. This is our first time w/air fryer- in our 50’s now and wow, we wish we woulda long time ago, but this recipe is excellent and a repeat! Actually crazy that is was so much better than our bbq! Will they a little less salt next time~ but the possibilities are endless. Cheers!
Yes! It’s such a helpful trick! 🙂 Enjoy your air fryer!!
Just bought my air fryer and tried out this recipe today, and I am OBSESSED!! The chicken is so juicy and the flavors are amazing, I couldn’t stop eating it haha! Thank you so much for the wonderful recipe!
Awww thanks so much for letting me know! Glad you love it!! 😀
I just made these! DELICIOUS!
So glad you enjoyed!! 🙂
Excellent recipe! I cranked up the temp to 390° and added 10 minutes to help crisp up the skin. I will make this again!
So glad you enjoyed and it worked well with the skin on too!
My first try at air fryer chicken thighs. The chicken was tender and juicy and the rub put this dinner over the top! Delicious!
So glad you enjoyed it!! 😀
This has become a go to for me. Always comes out juicy with just the right amount of flavor. Going to try the rub on a pork tenderloin tonight.
Thank you — I’m so happy you like it! I’m sure the tenderloin will be amazing too! 🙂
This was such an amazing and easy recipe! My husband absolutely loved it. The flavors were so good and the crust was so tasty. Thanks for the recipe!
So glad you guys enjoyed!! 😀
I had boneless skinless chicken thighs, I needed to cut down on the time so they would of been more moist. Very easy and good flavor, will make again.
So glad you liked them!! 🙂
I made this tonight and followed the recipe exactly…it was soooooo good! My son wants to have it again ASAP! Thank you so much!
Yay! So glad you guys enjoyed!!
Well, you just perked my interest with your sweet & spicy mix. I just tried bc it’s that quick and easy with an air fryer. My first recipe with chicken thighs and I love it!
So glad you enjoyed it! It’s such a great seasoning 🙂
I have the bone-in chicken thighs. Can I cook them the same as boneless?
Bone-in will require a longer cook time 🙂
Can’t wait to try! Picking up Cuisinart today. Do you have a silpat on the bottom of the tray with water on top?
Oooh yay! We hope you love it!! For this, we didn’t use anything. My small silpat fits on the tray but doesn’t cover it completely.
My thighs were a bit overcooked too even though I cooked them for let time than called for but they were still tasty and I will definitely make them agai and check them sooner. I have a cuisinart air fryer/toaster oven too and I love it. Thanks for the tip on the water in the bottom To prevent smokiness.
So glad you liked the seasoning. Cooking time can definitely vary depending on the size of the chicken and how your air fryer cooks. Yay, we love our Cuisinart air fryer too! And you’re so welcome 😀
Loved this!!
So glad you enjoyed!
I made this for my family and they absolutely loved it! I will definitely be using this recipe again!
Definitely a keeper — easy and tasty for everyone! My 10 year old who usually says “it’s okay” to most foods and then eats a couple bites actually ate 2 entire thighs and mentioned how good it was. I was a bit concerned with the brown sugar and my husband because he doesn’t like sweet on food, but he also enjoyed the flavor. I loved that it was so easy. Thank you for posting!
The chicken came out perfectly and the seasoning was great! Will definitely cook again. Thanks for this recipe!
You know when something tastes so good you kind of dance while you eat it? Well I call these “Dancing Thighs”, My husband actually requests “Dancing Thighs” for supper now. LOL
Oh my gosh, too cute, yes!! I am so glad you guys love the recipe too! 🙂
This is my ‘go to’ recipe when I want to make something quick, delicious and healthy. Thank you!
So glad you like it! You’re welcome!!
My air fryer doesn’t have a rack like shown in the pictures. It has n that turns the food around and around. I did do chicken wings in it and they turned out fine. Can I use any of these recipes in my fryer? They look so good.
The cooking time may vary from air fryer to air fryer, we always suggest checking that it reaches a safe internal temperature. 🙂
So TASTY!! I enjoyed mixing the few seasonings and waiting for the finishing. My sides were broccoli spears w/butter and yellow rice dashed with garlic and butter too.
The seasoning is soooo good! Ooh those sides sound delicious 😀
Going back for seconds. Thanks Courtney!!!
Yay! So happy you are enjoying the recipe! 😀
Delicious!!
so glad you loved it! 😀
I doubled the amount of thighs and added extra seasonings (didn’t change anything except less salt) – they were excellent! So juicy and the seasoning combination was great! This will be in regular rotation for sure.
So glad you enjoyed it!! It’s a regular favorite here too!! 🙂
Keeper recipe! I can’t believe how delicious this was! Time and temp perfect for the Vortex Plus. Thank you! I’m going to look through your other recipes 🙂
Thank you so much!! 🙂
This is a great recipe!
Thank you!!
We just got our air frye1r and were looking for recipes! This is delicious and we will definitely make it again
So glad you enjoyed, happy air frying!
So good!!!! Recipe was perfect for my ninja foodie air fryer!
Yay!! So glad it worked well in the ninja foodie air fryer as well 😀
Easy, excellent. I doubled the slices and it came out great!
So happy you enjoyed!
So easy and so good! Will definitely be making this chicken again!
So glad you enjoyed it!
Going to try this, but I notice that no olive oil was used?
No need as there’s fat on the thighs, but you could if you wanted. 🙂
This recipe was easy to follow and the chicken was a huge hit with the family!
I made this tonight and it was good! (I’m glad I used kosher salt instead of table salt—it would’ve been too salty.) I ate ALL FOUR! 😍
This recipe is very good. I didn’t have oregano so i used 1 part Tuscan seasoning and 1 part Italian seasoning. We also love garlic and onion so much I added 1/2 teaspoons of that as well. Will make again. Thanks for the great idea!
Great! Everyone must try this. You will never go back to the old ways of cooking chicken.
our favorite chicken recipe, perfect!
so happy to hear this – thank you!
To be frank, was very skeptical that this would be really good, jus because I have made SO many things that were rated highly on the ‘net’ only to be bitterly disappointed with the end result. HOWEVER! Have to say this chicken turned out absolutely GREAT! Even as a newbie on an air fryer, this spice mix on this chicken was the bomb and seriously worth making again (and I am a hard one to please). Going to make a double batch next time because it’s worth it!
We are so glad you love it!! The seasoning is really magical, isn’t it? 😀
This sounds great. But can I use coconut sugar instead of brown sugar? Or should I drop the sugar completely? I try to stay away from refined sugars. thank you!
Coconut sugar should work 🙂
2 lbs or 4 meaty chicken thighs bone in, skin on. 400° air fry 25 minutes. Rotated half way. I doubled the spice mixture combination, I used too much coconut sugar. Tasty and easy.
Delicious! Easy, Tender, Juicy and very Flavorful!!!
I just made this recipe and will make it often.
THANKS FOR SHARING!
You’re so welcome!! Happy you enjoyed it!
A delicious Favorite
so glad you love it!
These were so good.
Chicken breasts tend to get dry in the air fryer so I loved using the thighs as they stayed so juicy & full of flavor.
Made extra to use in salad later in the week
These will be made on repeat here at our house!
What did we do before the air fryer or the Internet for that matter? I googled “chicken thighs air fryer” because I didn’t feel like cooking them the way I normally do. This is awesome and a keeper! Thanks for sharing.
Thank You Cortney for your recipes. Always love using my air fryer oven. You do use the same instructions as a regular air fryer, correct? Just put them in. Sure smells good!! Made air fryer zucchini chips also. They look good. I can’t eat any of theses right now. on a liquid diet from having gum surgery and having new implants replaced. It’s been a month and a half. Hopefully I will be able to eat real food soon!!! So sick of jello, pudding, blended soup and smoothies. But did loose 12 pounds. Guess something that I needed came out of not eating my favorite food. Lol !!
You’re so welcome!! We use both a Ninja and a Cuisinart. I hope you can enjoy solids again soon!!
Forgot the five STARS!! Just took the chicken out of the Air Fryer. Looks good!!! Sad that I can’t get some. Thanks again!!!
You’re so welcome! We’re so glad you enjoyed it!! 😀
I’ve tried many recipes in my new air fryer but I’m glad I found this one!! It’s so easy to make & so delicious too!! This will be my go to recipe from here on out when I need something quick to fix
We’re so glad you found it too! So happy you like it, thank you so much for the review 😀
This is like the best recipe, my chicken was so good and juicy and had a different taste to it that I never had, I would recommend this recipe to anyone.
We’re so glad you enjoyed it!! 🙂
I’m trying this right now, it’s in the air fryer and smells do good! I’m trying to use my air fryer more and have never done chicken so I’m excited to taste them! Thank you!
We hope you enjoyed!! 😀
I must say after making this last night it’s among my favorite air-fryer chicken recipes! I had 8 boneless thighs, so simply doubled each seasoning ingredient; it turned out amazing and chock full of flavor! My only difference was not having Oregano alone, so I used an Italian Seasoning mix which had Oregano as the main ingredient. I’ll definitely make this again and also peruse your other recipes.
We’re so glad to hear it’s a favorite for you too! Thanks so much for the comment/rating! 🙂
I’ve tried quite a few boneless skinless chicken thigh air fryer recipes & this is by far the BEST!! I made one batch as the recipe calls & the 2nd batch I added a little garlic powder, cayenne & crushed red peppers. SUPERB!! This will now be our go to!
WOW! Thank you so much for the rave review. We’re so thrilled you enjoyed 😀
I was surprised such a simple recipe could be so delicious! It will be my go chicken recipe from now on.
My kids always beg for this recipe, the seasoning is AMAZING, so glad you enjoyed!
New to all this. Preheat to 350 or just set it to 350?
Set to 350 degrees F 🙂
We LOVED this! Made it last night with baked potato and steamed asparagus. Making again tonight but to go together with a salad of romaine, spinach, sliced strawberries, cherry tomatoes, toasted almond slivers, English cucumbers, alfalfa sprouts and a home made poppyseed dressing. Thank you so much for sharing this recipe.
Yay, so glad you enjoyed – sounds like the perfect meal 😀
I have made this at least once a week for the past month, ever since I found this recipe. Tender and just the right amount of spice. We love it!
Wow, we’re so happy you’re loving our recipe!! 😀 Thanks for trying it!!
My family loved this! This recipe is in our regular rotation now. Thanks for sharing!
I’m so glad to hear that! It means so much to know it’s become a regular in your family. Thank you for sharing this with me!
