Birthday Party Ideas and Tips for Children with Food Allergies | Disney Junior, Doc McStuffins

Celebrating a birthday is much more fun when it’s for a little one, don’t you think?  I love making cute little things, decorating, and of course spoiling them with presents.  I feel so excited to be able to share Birthday Party Ideas and Tips for Children with Food Allergies | Disney Junior Theme is Doc Mcstuffins! Whenever we attend a party we prepare in advance due to our daughter Kay and her food allergy.  We always make sure to know the theme and buy a few plates, cups, napkins and even bring a goodie bag for the kids!

Why do we do all of this?

When I had Kay I was excited for her first birthday party.  She had FPIES and couldn’t eat anything but strawberries and bananas.  We made sure we went over the top with toys, games, and decor.  however going to a birthday party she couldn’t eat anything, she’d get so upset seeing the other children eat treats.  Of course we brought her safe foods, but it wasn’t what the other children were enjoying.  It was heartbreaking.  Now I come WELL prepared to any party.  I may have to get a little more crafty for a slumber party though.  😉

Kay’s cousin’s birthday is this month and we’re celebrating next weekend.  There will be cake, cookies, ice cream, and most likely Kay won’t be able to enjoy any of it.  She has an FPIES allergy to soy, oat and chicken.  Nearly everything these days contains soy, go ahead look in your cabinet!  She’s even allergic to soy oil and lecithin.

How we’re preparing for a Doc McStuffins Party thanks to Walmart:

    • Disney Junior’s Doc McStuffins cups, plates, napkins and goodie bags
    • Allergy Free Snacks
    • Homemade Cookies
    • bonus: sometimes toddlers get upset they don’t have a gift too – we bought TWO Doc McStuffins Doctor Bag sets!  thanks to Walmart’s affordable prices we can afford to do this!
    • p.s. we may have to go get all the other stuff too!  Kay is BEGGING to open up the Doc McStuffins bowling set and the Big Book of Boo Boos!

What we really love about Doc McStuffins (and Doc McStuffins toys too!) is that they really help our daughter with her many doctor visits.  She trusts the doctors and knows they’re just there to help!

By bringing a few things I can make sure Kay is just as much a part of the party as other children and she can enjoy this way too.  She loves to see all the other kids enjoying cookies and candy just like she is.  We don’t want to leave her out, ever!  By doing this we make sure it’s a real party.   What’s great is some Walmart stores carry Disney Junior Costumes too! Like Doc McStuffins Costume, Mickey Mouse Costume, Sofia Costume, Minnie Mouse Costume and more.

We’re so excited for birthday parties now!  Before we weren’t prepared and it wasn’t as enjoyable.  Kay can’t wait to give the birthday girl her presents and all the other kiddos their goodie bags!  She had so much fun making these cookies with me!  They’re safe for her to eat and everyone too!  No nuts, no soy, however they do contain gluten.   Easily include your child with food allergies by following our tips above at the next children’s party!
