Our date caramel dip for apples (and more!) is a  healthy alternative to reduce sugar caramel. It's a great recipe for a quick easy and healthy snack.

It really is a simple recipe and it’s great for dipping your freshly picked apples! We love going apple picking and we always have tons of apples in the house during apple season. We went to our local grocery store and picked up some dates. These dates have seeds in them so we soaked them in some warm water (to get them a little juicier) and then took the seeds out. Dates are a little sticky/slimy so your mini chef may not want to touch them. My mini chef has sensory issues when it comes to this so we put the camera down and really worked on overcoming that together. 🙂

After we removed all the seeds my mini chef put the dates into the blender. She also put about 1/4 cup of the water into the blender as well.

After the water we flavored with a little vanilla. This is completely optional, but we do like the vanilla taste in our date caramel dip.

Then you get to enjoy. My min chef would have modeled her hands, but instead she was busy licking the spoon. 😉
