While our family favorites include spaghetti with meatballs, lasagna, stuffed shells, and anything other traditional Italian meal you’d make with sauce, we have many other uses for sauce too! One might think this idea is actually brilliant. My daughter is super picky with food that she eats so I figured we’d switch up our ordinary grilled cheese sandwich and add some Heinz Classico Family Favorites Traditional Sauce. The flavor the sauce gives to the grilled cheese is incredible! It’s like a pizza, with just a few ingredients!
What I love is that I can make these grilled cheese pizza sandwiches in minutes. They’re hot and ready when hubby gets home from work. Kay could never finish a whole one so I actually made her mini size sandwiches with a cookie cutter. Her life is forever changed 😉
She’ll still munch on the adult size but she really LOVES her own little sandwich.

Ingredients
- 4 slices bread
- 4 slices mozzarella
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 8 pieces Pepperoni
Instructions
- In a hot pan melt a little butter.
- Place down the bread and spread with sauce, top with mozzarella, pepperoni, and then another piece of bread.
- Flip once the bread is browned.
- Cut in half and serve once done.

Oh and don’t worry.. This sauce still goes EXCELLENT with our Traditional Italian favorites 😉

Grilled cheese is a favorite in our house. I bet my little guy would love this with pepperoni. Looks yummy!
