One thing about New York Moms is that you’re always on the go! Having a baby carrier is ideal when you’re walking in the city and having a diaper that doesn’t leak is even more important! Recently we celebrated my sister in law’s baby shower for her second baby boy! He actually came two weeks early and he’s as cute as can be!
I wanted to make her a few homemade gifts and get her a bunch of stuff to focus on nursing. While the baby is nursing they’re also working on getting rid of that milk and you need good wipes and diapers to fill (or hold!) the job. Huggies hug you baby and keep them dry. Since this is all about NYC life I decided I wanted to make a diaper cake, but not just any diaper cake. I MADE A BICYCLE DIAPER CAKE! I can’t take credit and I highly recommend this Bicycle Diaper Cake Tutorial. I call it a Bicycle since that’s what all the kiddos were calling it! 🙂 I even put a toddler sippy cup for my nephew since my sister in law is nursing.
To make the Bicycle cake I purchased Snug & Dry and Little Movers Diapers from CVS. I also got her a cute little Huggies Wipe clutch and case. I went with a grey theme to match the wipes containers – love these adorable baby solutions from Huggies! Originally I wanted to make a fun game with the diapers, but being a mommy I know how important having diapers can be! Thanks to this bicycle cake (and the extra diapers I bought!) she should be set for a little bit! Everyone bought diapers!!! They are such great value diapers and we didn’t want to waste them. I also didn’t want to do a traditional diaper cake and think this fit extremely well with the New York City Moms on the go theme.
Now she can really be on the go with her Huggies Diapers and Wipes.
I was nervous about transporting the diaper cake and ended up getting the biggest bag CVS had. Thankfully it made it there safely jammed in with more huggies, wipes and a baby carrier!
Since we’re all on the go mom’s I stuck to making just the dessert and then we ordered the food. Not the best idea to order! They had a huge delay and ended up coming 2 hours late, meaning the mommy got to eat dessert first!! Haha! We didn’t even bother setting the food up all pretty since she was already there but it was still delicious!!!! Croissant Sandwiches, Penne with Creamy Tomato Sauce and Chicken Francese!
I ended up taking a few pictures for my sister in law and Kay wanted to be in them too. She kept waiting and asking for the baby. She really thought he would be there and she could hold him. Poor thing!!
We set up little gifts for the kids and Kay had fun arrangeing them.. she told everyone she was blogging.
I made two different desserts. One was chocolate sandwich cookie balls which were devoured instantly and then yogurt cups! The yogurt cups were a HUGE hit! I’m so glad everyone liked everything and it was all organic aside from the chocolate sandwich cookies, which are my sister in law’s FAVORITE!!!!!
What’s a creative way you would have used the Huggies Snug & Dry & Little Movers Diapers?

I LOVE the bike rather than the traditional diaper cake – it’s so cute! Huggies were always my favorite diapers too. my kids all had massive blowout poops and these were the only ones that contained the mess. Kay is precious standing over there blogging and looking for the baby that hadn’t arrived yet! HA! Sorry about the food delay, but it sounds like it was otherwise a great party! #client
