tips for the best rolo pretzels

  • Be sure to use fresh pretzels and rolos. You don’t want stale pretzels or rolos that are too tough, and we always get the holiday rolos.
  • Don’t overcook the pretzels and chocolate. It should only cook in a preheated oven for at most 5 minutes, otherwise, you risk a chocolatey caramel mess.
  • Easily adapt this recipe with holiday candies and sprinkles for any holiday. Swap out the colors and even flavors of the m&ms for more festive fun.
  • It can take a while for the chocolate pretzels to cool, you can speed the process up by placing in the refrigerator if you’re in a rush.

  1. This is a grandma wanting to know these are save for a nut allergy.
One of my grandchildren has an allergy to nuts.

    1. Hi! My kiddo has peanut and nut allergies so he cannot have these. It would depend on your grandson’s allergen and his tolerance for cross contamination. Hope that helps!

    1. Hi! Yes, you can make these a day prior! I love to make them and then store them in an airtight container until ready to enjoy. They last a week this way. 🙂

  2. Loved them! Was a hit at a family Xmas gathering for sure. Super easy, fast, fun!! Will definitely make these again! Also took pictures but don’t see where to add photo

    1. Wondering if 250 is too high for making these with kisses… We followed recipe as printed, but used kisses instead of rolls, and chocolate didn’t melt/overcooked 🙁 Kids are bummed.

    2. Oh no, I’m so sorry! How long did you bake them? The chocolate doesn’t melt, but softens. When you place the m&m into the kisses they will “hug” the m&ms. Some ovens do cook on the hotter side so you could definitely try 200 degrees F if you wanted to try again. 🙂
