Everyone loves this quick and easy sweet and salty holiday treat. It’s easy to make these pretzel bites with rolos or Hershey kisses. Allow the kids to get in on the fun too. These take less than 5 minutes to bake.

What do you need to make rolo pretzels?

We use waffle pretzels or round ring pretzels which are easiest to find around the holiday season. You’ll also need rolo chocolate candies, m&ms, and sprinkles if desired.

    how to make rolo pretzels?

ingredients for holiday rolo pretzels rolos and pretzels on a baking sheet

    • Preheat your oven to 250 degrees F.
    • Line a baking sheet with a Silpat and place down the desired pretzel shape. If you don’t have a Silpat, you can line the baking sheet with parchment paper.
    • Once you have all of the pretzels nicely placed onto your baking sheet a rolo on top of each pretzel, you can also use Hershey kisses if you like.
    • Bake in a preheated oven for 4-5 minutes, just until the rolo candy starts to melt.
    • Remove from the oven and place an m&m candy onto each pretzel and slightly press it in.
    • Now is the time to add sprinkles your rolo pretzels while they’re a little melted and the sprinkles will stick
    • Let the chocolate cool completely before enjoying.

You would do this just like you did with the rolo, you can also bake some of each at the same time.

How long do Rolo pretzels last?

These rolo pretzel bites last about 2 days in our house before they’re gone, but as long as you keep them in an airtight container to prevent the pretzels from getting stale they should be able to last for easily a week.

tips for the best rolo pretzels

    • Be sure to use fresh pretzels and rolos. You don’t want stale pretzels or rolos that are too tough, and we always get the holiday rolos.
    • Don’t overcook the pretzels and chocolate. It should only cook in a preheated oven for at most 5 minutes, otherwise, you risk a chocolatey caramel mess.
    • Easily adapt this recipe with holiday candies and sprinkles for any holiday. Swap out the colors and even flavors of the m&ms for more festive fun.
    • It can take a while for the chocolate pretzels to cool, you can speed the process up by placing in the refrigerator if you’re in a rush.

Hi! My kiddo has peanut and nut allergies so he cannot have these. It would depend on your grandson’s allergen and his tolerance for cross contamination. Hope that helps!

Yes, you can freeze them, but I wouldn’t eat them frozen as the caramel will be very hard. 🙂

Once they cool what’s the best way to store them? Can they be made a day prior to serving? Thanks!

Hi! Yes, you can make these a day prior! I love to make them and then store them in an airtight container until ready to enjoy. They last a week this way. 🙂
