Everyone loves this quick and easy sweet and salty holiday treat. It’s easy to make these pretzel bites with rolos or Hershey kisses. Allow the kids to get in on the fun too. These take less than 5 minutes to bake.
What do you need to make rolo pretzels?
We use waffle pretzels or round ring pretzels which are easiest to find around the holiday season. You’ll also need rolo chocolate candies, m&ms, and sprinkles if desired.
how to make rolo pretzels?
- Preheat your oven to 250 degrees F.
- Line a baking sheet with a Silpat and place down the desired pretzel shape. If you don’t have a Silpat, you can line the baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Once you have all of the pretzels nicely placed onto your baking sheet a rolo on top of each pretzel, you can also use Hershey kisses if you like.
- Bake in a preheated oven for 4-5 minutes, just until the rolo candy starts to melt.
- Remove from the oven and place an m&m candy onto each pretzel and slightly press it in.
- Now is the time to add sprinkles your rolo pretzels while they’re a little melted and the sprinkles will stick
- Let the chocolate cool completely before enjoying.
how do you melt Hershey Kisses with pretzels?
You would do this just like you did with the rolo, you can also bake some of each at the same time.
tips for the best rolo pretzels
- Be sure to use fresh pretzels and rolos. You don’t want stale pretzels or rolos that are too tough, and we always get the holiday rolos.
- Don’t overcook the pretzels and chocolate. It should only cook in a preheated oven for at most 5 minutes, otherwise, you risk a chocolatey caramel mess.
- Easily adapt this recipe with holiday candies and sprinkles for any holiday. Swap out the colors and even flavors of the m&ms for more festive fun.
- It can take a while for the chocolate pretzels to cool, you can speed the process up by placing in the refrigerator if you’re in a rush.

What an easy great idea!
Thank you so much! 🙂 They’re so fun and delicious too!
Love this idea. Where did you find the round pretzels?
We find those during the holiday season at Aldi 🙂
I have also seen the circle ones at Safeway.
Oooh good to know!! 😀 I hope they become more readily available.
This is a grandma wanting to know these are save for a nut allergy.
One of my grandchildren has an allergy to nuts.
Hi! My kiddo has peanut and nut allergies so he cannot have these. It would depend on your grandson’s allergen and his tolerance for cross contamination. Hope that helps!
My son has nut allergies too! These are great!
This will be fun to make with my grandkids they will have so much fun Thank You for this great idea
Can you freeze them?
Yes, you can freeze them, but I wouldn’t eat them frozen as the caramel will be very hard. 🙂
Once they cool what’s the best way to store them? Can they be made a day prior to serving? Thanks!
Hi! Yes, you can make these a day prior! I love to make them and then store them in an airtight container until ready to enjoy. They last a week this way. 🙂
Loved them! Was a hit at a family Xmas gathering for sure. Super easy, fast, fun!! Will definitely make these again! Also took pictures but don’t see where to add photo
We’re so glad you loved them! Aww, thanks so much for the rating and for taking a photo! You can always tag us on social media 🙂
Would parchment paper work to bake these on?
Yes, you can definitely use a piece of parchment paper on a baking sheet for easy cleanup 🙂
Wondering if 250 is too high for making these with kisses… We followed recipe as printed, but used kisses instead of rolls, and chocolate didn’t melt/overcooked 🙁 Kids are bummed.
Oh no, I’m so sorry! How long did you bake them? The chocolate doesn’t melt, but softens. When you place the m&m into the kisses they will “hug” the m&ms. Some ovens do cook on the hotter side so you could definitely try 200 degrees F if you wanted to try again. 🙂
Even better than a M&M is a pecan squashed on the Rolo
Yes, that’s another great options!
This worked exactly as written, thanks!
That’s awesome to hear! I’m so glad the recipe worked perfectly for you, and we hope you enjoy those treats!
