Sweet Baby 24 Weeks

Sweet Baby is now the size of an ear of Corn!!

This week I started getting heartburn from anything and everything.  My ligament pains also returned.  I had a great checkup on Wednesday, and we even picked out our sweet baby’s name!  Since both of my parents have passed I wanted to remember them by using the first letter of each of their names.  My mother was Mindy, my father Vingenzo.   So for the longest time we just called her little MV.  It’s so nice to have a name and I can’t wait to share it with you all!  I’m so absolutely in love with this little one.  It was amazing to feel her little kicks, and now we’re definitely seeing her movement!  So very special!  Today I went shopping to find some clothes.  I really don’t want to purchase maternity yet, so I headed over to Marshalls.  Sigh… I fell in love with this dress, but it was a little snug getting on.   I would have loved to purchase it in just a size bigger so it would have been perfect for summer or my baby shower.  I checked the store up and down and all they had were 2 of the same size 4.  What was odd is it fit my belly perfectly, just a little too snug on the ever growing chest.

About our baby:   Sweet Baby’s growing steadily, having gained about 4 ounces since last week. That puts him at just over a pound. Since he’s almost a foot long (picture an ear of corn), he cuts a pretty lean figure at this point, but his body is filling out proportionally and he’ll soon start to plump up. His brain is also growing quickly now, and his taste buds are continuing to develop. His lungs are developing “branches” of the respiratory “tree” as well as cells that produce surfactant, a substance that will help his air sacs inflate once he hits the outside world. His skin is still thin and translucent, but that will start to change soon.  (summary and weekly image from babycenter)

About me: Hungry, hungry, hungry!!!  As soon as I’m done eating I can’t stop thinking about what I’ll eat next.
How far along? 24 Weeks 1 Days  
Total weight gain:  12lbs
Maternity clothes? Not yet, just bigger sizes.
Stretch marks? None yet
Sleep: Off an on.
Best moment this week: Finally seeing sweet baby’s little kicks from the outside.
Worst moment this week: Getting heartburn and ligament pain coming back 🙁
Miss Anything? Burger and Bacon!
Movement: Yes! 🙂
Food cravings: Honeydew and Riceworks Salsa Fresca!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Raw ground meat/chicken.
Gender: Baby GIRL!
Labor Signs: No.
Symptoms: Heartburn and ligament pain
Belly Button in or out? Same, in.  Just getting closed in!
Wedding rings on or off? Off.
Happy or Moody most of the time:  Happy! 🙂
Looking forward to:  Seeing our sweet baby again on an ultrasound.  Love seeing her! 🙂
