This bacon-wrapped air fryer filet mignon will wow your dinner guests. Seared on the outside with a beautiful pink inside on this air fryer filet mignon with bacon!
Since using an air fryer we’ve loved making our favorite meals without heating up the house or smoking out the kitchen with my grill pan.
This bacon wrapped filet mignon steaks are absolute perfection in the air fryer! If you haven’t made air fryer steak, you must try it! It sears the outside beautifully without overcooking the inside.
Ingredients for Bacon Wrapped Filet Mignon:
- 2 filet mignon steaks
- 2 slices of bacon
- 2 toothpicks
- 1 teaspoon freshly cracked peppercorns (we use a vareity of peppercorns)
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- avocado oil
How to cook bacon wrapped filet mignon
Wrap the bacon around the filet mignon and secure with a toothpick by pressing the toothpick through the bacon and into the filet, then out of the filet into the bacon on the other end of the toothpick.
Season the steak with the salt and pepper or your favorite seasonings.
Place the bacon wrapped filet mignon onto your air fryer rack.
Spray a little avocado oil onto the steak. (note: olive oil is a high smoke point oil and we do not recommend using it in the air fryer unless you’re using a lower heat setting see more on smoke point of oils)
How long to cook bacon wrapped filet mignon
You’ll want to air fry the steak for about 10 minutes on 375 degrees F and then flip as one side will be nice and seared while the other isn’t.
Air fry for another 5 minutes or until you reach the desired doneness. We’re aiming for medium.
The air fryer will not only sear the top and bottom of the filet mignon, but it will also crisp up the bacon too!
If you have a large filet you could use two slices of bacon, or stick with the one slice.
Slice it right open and enjoy with your favorite sides. This would go really well with our air fryer baked potato or air fryer baked sweet potato.

What time would you use if you were looking for a rare filet?
Courtney Lopez
You could try reducing the cooking time by about 5-6 minutes, but use a thermometer to check the safe temp. 🙂 My concern would be the bacon cooking fully though.

I was very skeptical about doing fillets in an air fryer. They turned out perfect!!!!! The bacon was crispy and the inside of the steak was pink. I missed the flavor that you get when you grill, but we were in the middle of a snow storm so grilling wasnt an option. We will definitely make this again and again!!!!!

So very glad you enjoyed!! 😀

Tried the filets in our air fryer for the first time. This was quick and easy! We like ours between medium and medium well. Cooked your recommended 10 minutes and turned the for 5 minutes. I cooked them a couple more minutes and got them out. They were not done enough for our taste, We cooked them
For a couple more minutes. They were perfect. Very good.

Thank you!

I’m just figuring which recipes will be good for me, cooking for 1 or 2.
My question is regarding other cuts of meat, Tbone, Porterhouse, etc.
Would I cook them approximately the same method as the filet?
Thank you!
Courtney
It would depend on the doneness you prefer. 🙂
Colleen
These were delicious! I cooked mine 10+2 and they were perfect
Courtney
Thanks for the comment! So glad you enjoyed our recipe!

Your steaks don’t have a maillard sear, and of course ‘medium’ is too well done for a filet. I season mine with crushed rock salt and spray on liquid smoke, then let sit for two hours. Preheat the air fryer @400F° for 5 minutes [I would go at a higher setting if it had one]. Cook at 400° for 8 minutes. Flip and cook 4 minutes more. Next, the important part: open the air fryer slightly and let rest for 5 minutes. Perfect!
Courtney
Some may think I’m crazy, but when I would eat meat it had to be well done. Definitely personal preference! 🙂

Can you cook more than 2 in a larger air fryer?
Courtney
yes, depending on the size of your air fryer as long as it has room for air to circulate.

At first I was skeptical of cooking steak in an air fryer. But I tried it and I am SO GLAD I did! I have a Ninja Foodi XL and I did have to add a few minutes to the cook time since it’s a larger unit, and I broiled it for a couple of minutes at the end to crisp up the top. But it was absolutely delicious and so tender! Will definitely do this again!

We’re so glad you enjoyed! The air fryer is a magical cooker! 😀

I think you meant to say that olive oil has a low smoke point. Avocado oil on the other hand does have a high smoke point.

I did it today, came out great, perfection!

Followed the one comment of 10 + 2. Absolutely perfect for medium rare. Bacon was cooked well also. Perfection, as one person said!
