Learn how to freeze peaches the easy way! Perfect for smoothies, baking, or snacking with this simple step-by-step guide.

We love going peach picking every summer, and one day we even plan to have a peach tree of our own in the backyard. Until then, we make the most of fresh peaches while they’re in season, and freezing them is the best way to enjoy that juicy flavor all year long.
Frozen peaches are perfect for smoothies, baking, or even a quick frozen snack straight from the freezer.
Quick Bites About This Recipe

Skill Level: Very easy, beginner-friendly.
Swaps: Works with nectarines too. Freezing method is perfect for pineapple, strawberries, melon, etc.
Make Ahead: Freeze peaches when they’re ripe to have on hand anytime.
Freezer Friendly: Store frozen peaches for up to 10–12 months.
Variations & Substitutions: Freeze peach halves instead of slices.
How to Freeze Peaches Ingredients
Peaches: Fresh, ripe peaches are best.
Parchment paper or silicone mat: Prevents peach slices from sticking to the baking sheet.
Cookie sheet: Provides a flat surface for the peaches to freeze individually before bagging.
Freezer-safe bags or containers: Perfect for storing frozen peaches long-term.
How to Freeze Peaches
Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper or a reusable silicone mat.

Wash the peaches thoroughly, then slice them in half, remove the pit, and discard it. Cut the halves into peach slices. (You can peel if desired, but we don’t as the peel has nutrition)

Arrange the peach slices in a single layer on the sheet, leaving a little space between each slice so they don’t stick together.

Place the cookie sheet in the freezer and freeze for 3–4 hours, or until the peaches are completely solid.

Once frozen, transfer the peach slices to a freezer-safe bag or container.

Return them to the freezer to store until ready to use.

How to Serve Frozen Peaches
Frozen peaches are versatile! Toss them straight into smoothies, make peach jam, peach sorbet, bake into pies, muffins, cakes, breads, or thaw slightly for topping yogurt and oatmeal. They even make a refreshing frozen snack on their own.
Recipe Tips and Notes
- Flash-freezing on a baking sheet keeps slices from clumping together.
- Label freezer bags with the date so you know how long they’ve been stored.
- If you prefer softer frozen peaches, blanch and peel before slicing and freezing.
- Sprinkle slices with a little sugar before freezing if you like extra sweetness.
- Freezing is a great way to preserve the peaches you pick at an orchard or from your own peach trees!
