Homemade Vegetable Cream Cheese Spread recipe for bagels is so easy to make. This can be used for bagel chips as a vegetable cream cheese dip for crackers or veggies! Kids and adults both love this veggie cream cheese recipe.

This recipe is super simple and you could easily make it with your kids! Want more toppings for bagels? Try our Easy Chicken Salad or Orange Honey Butter!

Vegetable Cream Cheese

Vegetable Cream Cheese is a staple in our house. We love having fresh bagels with cream cheese, but I truly love cream cheese filled with veggies!

What is vegetable cream cheese?

Vegetable cream cheese is just cream cheese mixed with veggies! Whenever I get the vegetable cream cheese in the store they have peppers in it and it just ruins the flavor me by making it watery and sweet. My favorite cream cheese is a simple scallion cream cheese or this vegetable cream cheese which has shredded carrots and scallions as well.

I love flavored cream cheese so much more than just plain cream cheese on a bagel. If I’m eating a plain bagel it must have a flavored cream cheese. If I’m eating everything I don’t mind unflavored cream cheese, but I always prefer Vegetable Cream Cheese over cream cheese without flavor.

How to use vegetable cream cheese

We love to spread this on bagels, crackers, and it’s even great on toast. My mini chef is super picky about cream cheese and she loves this recipe! We’re not the type to eat strawberry cream cheese or olive cream cheese, but some love those as well. We make this for parties and when we have company over for brunch and it goes quickly!

I like to make this in a big batch and save it for a few days. It’s great to take it right out of the fridge and smear onto a freshly toasted bagel.

If you’re making this for a party we recommend making a double batch and if it’s a bagel party we suggest serving along with tuna salad, chicken salad, whitefish salad, and some even like smoked salmon/lox!

Making flavored cream cheese at home allows you to control the ingredients. We purchase organic vegetables and cream cheese. By making it at home we also save a ton!

Optional add-ins to our Vegetable Cream Cheese Recipe

  • Radishes
  • Celery
  • Bell Peppers

We stick to a traditional recipe that my grandma made. She only used carrots and scallions. If you like scallion cream cheese you an just make it with the scallions and leave out the shredded carrots. Either way, you’re going to love this cream cheese recipe!
