    spider donuts

We absolutely love chocolate covered apples, our favorite way to make chocolate covered apples is chocolate covered apple donuts which are just apple slices covered in chocolate. You could make apple donuts with frosting and sprinkles which is even easier!

To make our spider donuts we used a piping bag, candy eyes, candy melts, and semi-sweet chocolate. The actual spider bodies is a Wholly Rollies.

What are Wholly Rollies and where can I find them?
Wholly Rollies are a delicious on the go snack for kids. They’re protein balls filled with wholesome ingredients and kids and adults love them! They’re gluten-free, Non-GMO, plant-based, without any refined sugars and salts. You can find them at your local @acmemarkets in the freezer section!

HOW TO MAKE CHOCOLATE COVERED APPLE SLICES

    1. Slice an apple into donut shapes and cut the middle out using an apple corer.
    2. Dip the apples into a lemon water mixture to prevent browning.
    3. Melt your desired chocolate in a microwave safe bowl for 30 seconds at a time stirring in between.
    4. Once the chocolate is melted dry the apples off and dip into the chocolate, kids could also spread it on if dipping is too messy.
    5. To thin the chocolate use a little coconut oil or any neutral oil you have on hand that won’t alter the taste.
