It’s no secret that my family loves pork chops. A few of our favorites, on the top of my head, are our Parmesan Crusted Pork Chops, Air Fryer Pork Chops, Smothered Pork Chops, Brown Sugar Pork Chops, and Baked Cream of Mushroom Pork Chops. But really, we love all of our pork chop recipes so it’s hard to pick favorites!

Recipe ingredient notes

  • Seasonings  – We use pantry staple herbs and spices for this recipe.
  • Avocado Oil – Using oil helps the pork chops lock in the moisture and flavor.
  • Boneless Pork Chops – For this we use boneless pork chops, but you could also increase the cook time and use bone in pork chops as well.

Step-by-step instructions:

For the full ingredient amount and full instructions on how to make baked pork chops see the recipe card below.

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
  2. Season the pork chops with avocado oil and the spices we suggest or your preferred seasoning mix.
  3. Place the pork chops onto a baking sheet that is lined with parchment paper or you can cook it on a greased baking sheet.
  4. Bake for 7-8 minutes for medium cooked pork chops or 8-10 minutes per side for well-done pork chops.
  5. Make sure the pork chops reach 145° F measured in the center, this is the lowest safe point for pork chops. For well-done pork chops go for 155-160.

We prefer well-done with pork, but that’s our personal preference.

Recipe tips and variations:

  • You can use as many pork chops as you’d like, just increase the seasoning as needed. We suggest not to overcrowd the baking sheet as it will prevent the pork chops from cooking properly and will cause them to “steam” if overcrowded.
  • Score a few lines on the fat on the outter rim on the pork chops to prevent them from curling.
  • You can also use this recipe for bone in pork chops, you’ll just need to increase the cooking time and make sure you temp the pork chops once done cooking.

Storage and reheating tips:

  • Refrigerate: Store any leftover pork chops in an air-tight container in the refrigerator and enjoy within 3-4 days.
  • Freeze: To freeze leftover pork chops place in a freezer safe container. Freeze for up to 2-3 months.
  • Reheat: To reheat pork chops you can use your oven or air fryer at 350 degrees F for 25 minutes, oven at 350 degrees F for 30 minutes or microwave for 3-4 minutes.

Frequently asked questions:

Can I make this with bone-in pork chops?

Yes, we just add a few minutes and take the temperature after cooking. Make sure the pork chops reach 145° F measured in the center, this is the lowest safe point for pork chops. For well-done pork chops go for 155-160.

Can I do this in an air fryer?

Yes! Some air fryers will cook hotter, so be sure to adjust the temperature and we aim for 5-8 minutes per side for pork chops. The air fryer cooks faster so it’s 5 minutes for thin, 8 minutes for thick-cut pork chops.

Can I make this a sheet pan meal?

Absolutely! We sometimes add seasoned broccoli, asparagus, potatoes, or even peppers and onions.
