You want to serve a decent size burger. Go for about 1lb for 4 burgers. Each burger will use 1/4lb of ground beef.

We cook our air fryer hamburgers until the meat thermometer reaches 160 degrees F. There’s usually little to no pink in the center. With all the scares of ground beef and bacteria, we like to cook until it’s out of the danger zone.

how to serve air fryer burgers

These burgers would go really well with some air fryer bacon and air fryer corn on the cob! If kids don’t like burgers you can easily whip up some air fryer hot dogs.

tips the best air fryer burgers

  • Pour some water on the air fryer pan. This will prevent the fat from sizzling on the hot tray when it falls from the burgers.
  • You can easily use a fattier meat, but we had excellent results with 90% lean ground beef.
  • Use a great bun. We always use brioche buns for burgers. They’re buttery and delicious with the burgers.
  • Opt for real cheddar cheese or yellow American cheese. Most prefer yellow cheese.

Appreciate the recipes you have developed for the Cuisinart Toaster Oven with the Air Fryer. I have tried the Hamburgers and the came out great

    1. Hi Carol!

In our air fryer we add a little water to the bottom tray. By doing this the fat doesn’t hit a hot empty pan and sizzle which creates the smoke. It definitely cuts it down a lot! 🙂

Simple and easy to make. I decreased the time just a bit. Also using ground chuck or sirloin will prevent grease dripping from causing smoky situations

  3. Hi, I must eat my ground beef at the “well done” point since my liver transplant. I hate any well done beef but this is the way things must be. With that said, I’ve tried several attempts at hamburgers (store bought, preformed), each a 1/4 pound weight. We use use the Ninja Foodi OP302. I can clearly see that the air frying of the beef burger is rolling along beautifully but since I must cook the meat to a temperature of 165F, the finished product is total inedible to me (Remember now, its not the appliance’s fault, but my health restrictions).
Do you have any suggestions as how I might find a compromise arrangement so that I could once again enjoy my beloved hamburger? Perhaps making my own burgers from 90% beef? Or 80%? Perhaps someone has found a way to keep the meat juicy even though it was cooked to death at 165F! I’m very tempted to try your approach but I believe the outcome will be still unacceptable to my pallet. Your (or anyone’s) assistance would be most appreciated. Thank you.

    1. I haven’t used your air fryer, but the burgers in ours are very juicy. Another option would be searing the meat on a cast iron like a smashed burger. You could take a round ball of meat and then smash it down with a spatula. Both sides would be seared and the inside would be fully cooked because it’s thinner. 🙂

    2. Al, have you tried sous vide cooking? I bought my sous vide on Amazon. It has changed my life as far as beef goes and the meat is incredibly juicy. We no longer go out for steaks because I can make them just as good if not better at home.

    3. Hi Al, I would try the onion soup burger recipe with mayonnaise added instead of water. The burgers are incredibly juicy. I have always broiled them in my oven, so maybe give that a try. Also, I usually use ground sirloin, which is 90/10 fat content. Taking the burgers out once they reach 5 degrees less than your goal temperature and letting them rest should get them to the temperature you are trying to reach. This goes for any meat cooked by any method.

Courtney, I am so thrilled to find your website!!! I just purchased my Air Fryer on Monday and I can’t wait to try some of these !!! I became a widow earlier this year so it doesn’t as long and it’s really hard to cook for just-1-person but this has motivated me to to better. I purchased a Vortex.

  5. Many of your recipes are for more than one person. Do I adjust time for one burger, chicken breast or pork chop? Thank you
