It’s no secret, I absolutely love cooking vegetables in the air fryer, from mushrooms to baked potatoes, sweet potatoes, corn on the cob, broccoli, asparagus, even string beans are delicious in the air fryer!

WHY SHOULD YOU MAKE MUSHROOMS IN THE AIR FRYER?

If you love mushrooms with tons of flavor, this is a recipe you will love. It’s super easy to make, easy cleanup cooks perfectly, and super flavorful. You can enjoy them with our simple seasoning if you’re not a fan of balsamic vinegar, it’s so good either way you make it.

HOW DO YOU WASH MUSHROOMS?

To clean mushrooms I like to use a damp towel or cloth and gently brush the dirt off the surface of the mushroom. I then trim the bottom end of the mushroom if it’s dry. If you don’t like the stems or they’re really not as fresh as the tops you can remove them and save to make vegetable broth.

HOW TO MAKE AIR FRYER MUSHROOMS

Cut the mushrooms into large bite-size pieces as they will shrink down.

Place the mushrooms into a bowl and drizzle in oil.

Sprinkle with garlic, salt, and pepper, toss to coat and then place the mushrooms in the air fryer rack, leaving space in between for even air frying.

Air fry the mushrooms for 8-10 minutes at 375 degrees F on the top rack of your Cuisinart, tossing once at around 4-5 minutes in.

Once the mushrooms are done place into a bowl and toss with freshly chopped parsley and balsamic vinegar.

WHY DO YOU NEED TO LEAVE SPACE BETWEEN MUSHROOMS?

Leaving space between food when air frying allows it to cook more evenly and crisp up. When a pan is too crowded things cannot cook as well as if they were properly spaced apart. Too close would cause it to steam more than air fry. This is true for all roasted vegetables. See more info on How to Roast Vegetables.

WAYS TO SERVE AIR FRYER MUSHROOMS

These go really well with your favorite main course our favorite pairing options are:

  • Bacon Wrapped Filet Mignon
  • Air Fryer Burgers
  • Air Fryer Pork Chops
  • Parmesan Crusted Pork Chops
  • Crispy Chicken Thighs
  • Oven Baked Chicken Breast

RECIPE NOTES:

  • Just like when cooking in a pan, mushrooms shrink down, a lot! Whenever we make air fryer fried mushrooms we make a LOT because they shrink down after cooking. They have tons of moisture so they will shrivel up, if the rack is full it will be down to less than half, even 1/3 of what you put on.
  • You can enjoy these with just the seasoning or with both the seasoning and balsamic vinegar.
  • We use a Cuisinart Air Fryer which has two levels. If you only have one just cook as is, but you may need to increase or decrease the cooking time, depending on how well your air fryer cooks.
