Air Fryer Hard Boiled Eggs are an easy way to make hard boiled eggs without using the stove or oven. Plus find recipes that use hard boiled eggs.

We love making steamed hard boiled eggs, but hard boiled eggs in the air fryer are just as easy! You can enjoy them as is or use them in recipes.

When following our instructions you should get the perfect hard boiled eggs every time. If you want a soft boiled egg you’ll want to reduce the cook time. These little fryers that use air are becoming a normal gadget in every kitchen. Before getting our countertop convection oven style we had a bucket style and we always had issues with it not cooking the way we wanted. We actually referred to it as our baked potato maker, because that’s what it did best.

Ensure that you’re giving the eggs enough room cook. Space the eggs apart so the air will circulate around the egg.

Cook the eggs in the air fryer for 15 minutes and then remove from the air fryer basket right away.

Place the eggs into an ice water bath for 10 minutes.

You don’t have to put a ton of ice in the ice bath or if you have really cold water that will work too. We used 1 cup of crushed ice in ours and it melted within the 10 minutes.

Once they are cooled down you can peel and eat the eggs.

tips for making the best air fryer hard boiled eggs

    • During the multiple test runs, we found that the best cooking temperature for our Cuisinart Air Fryer Toaster oven was 260 degrees F.
    • Also, if you’re using the same air fryer we recommend placing it on the lower rack setting.
    • We tried cooking from 13 to 16 minutes and 15 minutes was perfect each time. 10-11 minutes you’ll get a perfectly cooked soft boiled egg.
    • You can use fresh or older eggs for this recipe, we used fresh organic pasture raised eggs for testing.
    • Never skip the water bath, it helps stop the cooking process and also makes them easier to peel.

Now that you’ve made cooked eggs you can enjoy these on their own or use them in any recipes that use hard boiled eggs like our chicken pasta salad, potato salad with eggs. egg salad, bacon egg salad, or even avocado deviled eggs. Even use them with our homemade Easter egg dye. Since these dyes are made from food you can remove the shell to color the egg whites and kids and adults LOVE it!

I just bought the cuisinart air fryer toaster oven and not sure which level to place the rack for hard boiled eggs and I am assuming I place it on air fryer mode? Is this correct?

For eggs I place it on the lower position and yes on air fryer mode. 🙂 Happy Air Frying!

can you use the air fryer toaster over to boil water and heat up foods like you can in a microwave?

I wouldn’t use it to boil personally. I find it’s great for baking, air frying, toasting, broiling, dehydrating. 🙂 I even reheat leftovers in the air fryer.

I find the timer on my cuisinart air fryer is not exact so did you do 15minutes with the air fryer timer or with a separate kitchen timer? And did the 15minutes cook the yolk dry enough for flaking to make deviled eggs or should I do a few minutes longer to get a flaky yolk?

Since I create recipes to share with readers I always use a regular timer as well. These took 15 minutes total for me to cook like the pictures above. 🙂

We keep hard-boiled eggs in the refrigerator 5-6 days in the peel. 🙂 Peeled we use within 24 hours.

Excellent instructions! I followed your advice using my Cuisinart air fryer/toaster oven set at 260° and on the air fry setting for 15 mins. Beautiful hard-boiled eggs.
      Thank you!

We never preheat in our Cuisinart or any of our air fryer recipes. Hope that helps! 🙂

We have the Cuisinart Air Fryer and it only allows for temp settings to go from increments of 25, so we can choose 250 or 275. How did you get yours to 260?

The manual Cuisinart can go to 260 degrees F. I would do 250 and add a minute or 2. 🙂

What wattage is your air fryer? I don’t have a Cuisinart and the wattage is 1200.

Followed your instructions using a Gourmia air fryer toaster oven and they didn’t get done, in fact the whites were runny..and that was even having the eggs in while warming up. Any suggestions?

        Hi Lynn!
This recipe works perfectly in our Cuisinart. I’ve since added a Ninja XL to our collection, so I’ll try it with that one as well. I haven’t seen any recipes go over 15 minutes, but if yours cooks on the cooler side I would go up a few degrees, maybe about 275 degrees to even 300 depending on how it cooks. We love our air fryer but the instant pot and steaming eggs are by far our favorite!

I had high hopes. Dashed! The yolks of my test egg was soft with runny center. I took the rest out of the ice bath and I put them in a pot of water until boiling, sat off heat for 17 min. and returned to ice bath. They’re edible. Eggs are too pricey to keep testing.
(My Cuisinart Air Fryer temps start at 250 and graduate in 50° increments. I eyeballed for 260° but was more likely 275°and cooked 9 eggs for 15 minutes.)

I find that with the Cuisinart and all other air fryers for that matter the temperatures vary. Some cook hotter than others unfortunately, or even cooler. My preferred method for eggs would be steam. Just a good old steamer insert into a post and a lid for the pot. Works perfectly for us! 🙂 https://www.courtneyssweets.com/steamed-hard-boiled-eggs/

Can I put my eggs into my airfryer directly from the fridge, or do I need to allow them to sit at room temp for a bit first.

Not much luck my on my first try. I have a cuisinart compact airfryer toaster oven. Mine eggs came out soft boiled. Im going to try eggs at room temperature and/or let my air fryer warm up first.

Eggs can be tricky depending on the size of the egg and air fryer the timing can vary. For best results, we recommend making steamed hard boiled eggs https://www.courtneyssweets.com/steamed-hard-boiled-eggs/
